Hospital partnership and tend to forget that so many other commendable deeds are done by other minor brands as well. DTLR has joined forces with New Balance for the DTLR X St Jude X New Balance M530SJY, a shoe whose proceeds will help the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. According to DTLR press release,
DTLR is the first Urban Retail chain to partner with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Every year DTLR stores and employees spend one month to raise money to donate to the research hospital. Since 2011 we have raised over $400,000. However, it was just days into our first fundraiser that one of our employees, Tremayne Lipscomb Sr. (Community Outreach Manager) learned that his son was facing a life-threating form of blood cancer called Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). It was because of our partnership to raise funds, that the family was able to learn more about St Jude and other treatment options available at their local hospital.
The SHOES
The Premium Burgundy suede upper features a leather vamp overlay with hits of gold on the heel tab and N logo. Matching burgundy laces have the St. Jude quote “Finding cures. Saving children.®,” printed on both sides while the special shoe insert comes with a custom heart design. A removable St. Jude logo hangtag completes this exclusive release.
