The Air Jordan 8 VIII South Beach will be available for purchase on Saturday October the 13th. Figuring out the number of pairs produced will be my task this morning. The first thing that needs to be done is taking a count of the number of retailers that will be allocated an inventory. For this particular release, only major retailers were given an inventory- Footlocker & family, Finishline, Hibbett and let’s not forget to add Nike of course. We’ll consider the following assumptions,
.Footlocker and its derivatives will receive about 1/3 of the total inventory
.Each store will receive about 24 pairs ( I’m saying this because I went to my local Champs store and the manager told me her location was receiving between 24 and 30 pairs)
.And their online stores ( Eastbay included) will receive about a third of the inventory the physical locations will be allocated.
There are a little over 1000 Footlocker stores, 547 champs stores and 272 Footactions in North America. I looked at each store’s launch locator map and it appears that most Footlocker and Champs stores will get the shoes. But with Footaction, I concluded from the map that only half of the 272 stores were allocated an inventory.

Now let’s run our numbers,
Physical Stores: Footlocker ( 1000 x 24) + Champs ( 570 x 24) + Footaction (135 x 24)=40920 pairs
Online locations: Half of the total number 40920/2=20460
let’s not forget give Eastbay a 1/3 of the total from the FTL,FTA, Champs online combined
Eastbay= 20460/3= 6820
So the Total from Footlocker and derivatives = 40920 +20460 + 3820 =68200.
And now the Grand total is based on our earlier assumptions: 68200 x3=204600 and I think it sounds about right ( do your own homework if you don’t agree with this estimate).
MARKET VALUE
Ebay
This isn’t looking very good, there are only 9 recorded sales and that isn’t sufficient data to make any solid claim about the market value of the shoes. I clicked on each of the sold listings and one seller alone sold 5 pairs at $259.99 see screenshot below
So based on the picture above I can set the current market value at $250-. The Jordan 8 silhouette isn’t highly sought after so I expect the market value to drop by $20 or $30 once the shoe officially releases. ( by the way it’s on a first come first serve basis).
Now let’s check StockX
The average price based on the 35 sales recorded on stockX is $210 much lower than eBay and i’m expecting the price to go further down comes Saturday.
