I’m extremely exhausted and that because of the constant labor of packing up boxes and shipping shoes out to customers. A lot of the observations I make regarding the changes in the sneaker industry are related to what I’ve witnessed in the market. Basically what I’m saying is most of the assertions i make are seldom theoretical or subjective. I really didn’t find the need to write any projection post on the number of pairs of the Air Jordan 14 Candy Cane possibly made but it seems as if they are somewhat limited. I asked several managers about the number of units their location received and the response I got went something like this,
We ain’t got that many, they are going to be made available to the buyers via the launch reservation app
In other words, i’m assuming that most major retailers like Footlocker and Champs will probably receive about 12 pairs per store ( with the 70+ exceptions for select House Of Hoops locations). With that said, let’s come up with a number of stockists that will carry this model comes Saturday April the 6th.
Major Retailers: Nike, Footlocker, Champs, Footaction, Finishline, Hibbett
Minor Retailers: None so far, it might change

Before we compute our numbers, we need to make a couple of assumptions. Since there are only 4 major retailers listed ( Nike included) we’ll assume that FTL, Champs and Footaction will get about 1/3 of the total inventory, Finishline and Hibbett will get about 1/6 each and Nike will also get 1/3. We’ll also add the following:
.Physical stores allocation for each FTL, Champs and FTA =12
.Online allocation: Eastbay, FTL,FTA,Champs online will get about 1/4 of the total allocation the physical stores are receiving.
THE NUMBERS:
PHYSICAL STORES: FTL ( 595 X 12)+ FTA (47 X 12) + CHAMPS ( 365 X 12)=12084
ONLINE STORES: (12084/4) X 2= 6042
FOOTLOCKER TOTAL: 12084 + 6042=18126 so let’s take it up to 19000 to account for the possible errors based on the variations in the allocation per store.
THE GRAND TOTAL= 19000 X 3=57000 PAIRS
