New York Footwear/clothing designer and owner of Kith Ronnie Fieg is preparing to release his very first sneaker collaboration with Nike. For those who don’t know both parties ( Nike and Ronnie Fieg) have already launched a special pop-up shop in NY, geared toward unleashing massive amount of story telling sneakers every month; this could mean very bad news for retailers. Chris and I have been stressing this out for a couple of years now, Nike is doing away with the idea of ” wholesale” and the distribution channels such as FTL and its derivatives. When I had the chance of deciding which silhouettes and what I’d want to work on, Scottie Pippen came to mind right away because I always felt like Pippen was the most underrated player and didn’t quite get all the respect that he deserved while he was playing, and I think his game really aged like fine wine.
