Housakicks Traffic, Most Viewed Links, Posts & The Implications

Number of visits from June to August

Sharing is caring!

My whole objective for sharing these records is to show you the points of contacts between housakicks and its users/visitors  in order to understand how consumers behave.
The first part of the records’s sharing will focus on the number of visits and page views  the site registered between June and August.

In the month of August, Housakicks averaged 5348 visits per day and 13781 page views per day

I wanted to put all this data into a histogram and draw some quick observations and conclusions

Number of visits from June to August

The number of visits has increased from 148,005 in June to 165,5789 in August. I can establish a lienar model to predict the number of visits in the next few months based on the equation. Let’s find the rate of change and then make our prediction

rate= (165789-148005)/(8-6)=17784/2=8892 visits/per month

If we set our standard number of visits at 148,005 then our equation is

Number of visits= 8892( time elapsed since June)+ 148005

So we can project that in the month of December ( t=12-6)

Number of visits should be= 8892 x 6+148005= 201,357, if there is no model breakdown

As important as the number of visits is, it’s not as important as the quality of the visits. My next goal is to show you what the most viewed links/posts and pages are on the Housakicks. My main categories( the type of content I write) are as follows: real vs fake posts ( 269 total posts), business/projection posts ( 100 posts), Buy It now post ( 1300 posts), lifestyle (162 posts). Now let’s take a look at what users viewed the most between June and August of 2019.

June Most Viewed content ( top 35)– I opted for the top 35 because there are over 100 records in my statistics

The next thing I want to do is take the highest number of views per category ( from June to August), put them in a histogram, make some observations and draw my conclusions.

June-August

most viewed material on housakicks ( june through August)

I took the highest number of views per category from June -August out of the top 35 most viewed links and the results are in the histogram above.I hope you can see exactly what most consumers are interested in- the real vs fake posts ( even though they only account for 269 posts out of the 2000+ posts on Housakicks). The “real vs fake content” is the most effective point of contact between the consumer and Housakicks. As much as I enjoy writing abut sneakers in general and the projection post in particular (because of my mathematics background), people that come to the site are primarily interested in authenticating their sneakers. The market is flooded with fakes and folks are afraid of being deceived. Now you can understand why a marketplace like StockX is thriving based on one single element- the authentication service. The projection posts are also very valuable since they deal with the availability and market value of certain sneakers. Most retailers do not provide this type of material on their ecommerce shop and wonder why their sales are atrocious. You can see from the histogram above that what attracts the consumer isn’t the product listed in the shop but rather the practical services the site offers. This is the type of information that brings the customer back and for some odd reason , retailers haven;t quite grasped these simple things. Let me show you something else.

ake category between june and august

The real vs fake category ( page) went from 38322 registered views in June to 55162 views in August. I’m attributing this increase to the fact that people are probably bookmarking the website and constantly checking for new material; I’m also assuming that folks are sharing the information on the site with their peers. I wanted to also share the following findings

June, July and August keyword search

June keyword search

July keyword search

August keyword search

The top word searched between June and August was obviously the word ” fake” which reinforces everything that I already said in the paragraphs above. I’ll one more piece of information to seal this

august page views duration

This is a breakdown of the page view duration and as you can see the Real vs fake pages recorded not only the most views but also the most duration ranging from 3 minutes to 26 minutes, in other words folks are spending a considerable amount of time on those pages because they are instructional.

Now the question is: how can this even help a retailer, brand or a third party marketplace?

To answer this question I have to share a few more records with you. Housakicks also runs an online shop that currently has 310 products listed, see screenshot below

housakicks online shop number of products

The next screenshot is going to show you how many sales the shop has registered between June and August

housakicks online shop number of sales

A total of 56 pairs of sneakers were sold between June and August.

August orders via housakicks online shop

15 orders were placed in the store in August and 8 were fulfilled.

I put all the data in the histogram below and will explain why it’s important

products listed vs # of sales on housakicksonline shop
products listed vs # of sales on housakicks online shop

The store only has 310 products listed and 56 products were sold between June and August. To some, that may sound like a very poor performance but what one needs to focus on is the sales’s ratio. For 56/310 which is about 18.06 %; in other words if I had 1000 products listed ,in three months based on this ratio, housakicks online shop would have registered:

1000 x 18.06%=180.64 or 181 products ( the more selection  of products available , the more sales will occur).

So the question is: why haven’t I done that? Writing articles is taxing and time consuming and Housakicks is a one man operation. But the good news is a brand, a retailer or a third party marketplace can benefit from being linked to Housakicks, check out the screenshot below

ebay-2017-records
 Proven Results
2017 Results via eBay Affiliates
26,375 clicks to eBay in 2017 from 320,426 impressions, $67,231,74 in sales recorded for 558 items ordered. The conversion rate was 2.12% and the average item ordered cost about $120.39., see screenshot below
ebay september 2019 records
After 12 days in September of 2019 the site sent about 1102 clicks to eBay for 21 items ordered

Housakicks isn’t under eBay’s payroll, these are affiliate numbers. You need to understand how these numbers were achieved.

I wrote close to 200 Real vs Fake posts in the space of two years and those are the majority of the posts on which eBay’s products are featured. Basically when I write those posts, I provide the readers with a list of eBay stockists carrying authentic sneakers and that’s how the 26375 clicks for $67231.74 were achieved. Now brace yourself for the next thing I will show you:

Housakicks currently has about a total of 2214 posts ( sneaker related articles)

(123) pages(sneaker related pages)

an online shop

A total of  number of 638 sneaker related videos via Youtube

Four banner ad spots per page

Based on the numbers above, eBay is only utilizing:

162/ [2214]= .07or  7% of the website posts

Hence 7% of the network posts were responsible for 415323 impressions, 50,133 clicks for a total of $105,853.
