Reebok should’ve thought about creating a pair of shoes with the tattoo theme in mind. Allen Iverson was one of the first guys to really push the envelope when it comes to tattoos in the NBA. His love for the game was expressed through the art on his body and we all knew that every time AI stepped on the court, he gave a 110%.
Nike has been trying to figure out ways to come up with new backstories for their Jordan retros and I think the Air Jordan 4 IV Tattoo was a brilliant idea. The retros were originally made for performance purposes and I think creating a colorway to celebrate the game of basketball was ingenious. The shoes feature an all-over graphic of basketball-inspired tattoo designs in black and white with red highlights on the midsole, tongue and the extensions of the wings, see picture below. The shoes are supposedly releasing in Greater China November 11 and globally December 29.
