Kevin Garnett And Blake Griffin doing what? My favorite basketball player of the 2000’s era Kevin Garnett AKA “The Big Thicket” has announced his retirement earlier this week. KG entered the league directly from high school in 1995, and made an immediate impact with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He lead the team to eight consecutive playoff runs ; his best year was in 2004 when he led Minnesota to the Western Conference Finals and won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award. Unfortunately he couldn’t get past the Black Mamba and the Los Angeles Lakers; in 2007, he joined the Boston Celtics and formed the first big three along with Ray allen, Paul Pierce and they ended up winning their first NBA title in 2008 destroying the Lakers. Boston had two more Eastern conference finals appearances after that along with one NBA final where they lost to the Lakers.
In 2013, Garnett was traded to the Brooklyn Nets with Paul Pierce, and in 2015, he was traded back to Minnesota where it all started. After a year and half with the timberwolves, KG has finally decided to hang up the gloves after such a terrific career.
I could go on and talk about his leadership abilities, his hunger and fierceness on the court; but what I really appreciate about this man is his willingness to pass on his knowledge and skills to the next generation. Garnett has just retired but he landed in the Clippers training camp ( i bet you Doc Rivers called on him to help) and was recorded helping Blake Griffin polishing his post moves. I was able to get a footage of the workout via HoopsJab-SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE
