How Will Porzingis Fit In The Mavericks’s System Courtesy Bballbreakdown

Sharing is caring!

The Knicks and Mavericks were involved in a trade that sent Porzingis, Courtney Lee, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke to Dallas; in return New York received Dennis Smith Jr., DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews and two future first-round draft picks. Most people claim that the trade was a win/win si for both organizations but I think Dallas benefited more by parting ways with an aging player in Wesley Matthews ( who was never the same after his achilles injury ), a one dimensional player (DeAndre Jordan ) and a potential explosion between Denis Smith Jr.  and Doncic. New York did create a 73 million cap space which is definitely a positive consequence. Coach Nick of Bballbreakdown has graced us  with another video showing us how Dallas offense and defense might improve with the arrival of KP and Tim Hardaway Jr. The first thing I will mention is that KP and Doncic in the pick and pop or pick and roll will be nightmarish for any team. Unlike Deandre Jordan who can only dive to the basket , KP can shoot the triple, post up and also roll to the rim. He has guard skills that allow him to put the ball on the floor and destroy his opponent. He has the ability to play with his back to the basket as a traditional center of even face up. His length allows him to be a very effective rim protector. I’ll invite you to watch the video below in its entirety and be sure to subscribe to Bballbreakdown
