NBA fans couldn’t wait to see what King James was going to do on his Lakers debut. Unfortunately he met a fierce opponent in the Portland Trail Blazers galvanized by Damian Lillard. One thing I have noticed as soon as the game started was that both teams wanted to play very fast and were pushing the pace. There was a lot of easy transition buckets exchanged but what became clear to me was that the Lakers couldn’t contain Nurkic in the low post. This is going to be a serious problem going forward that needs to be addressed. I was very delighted with Nick Stauskas performance who seems to have found a home in Portland ( he has bouncing around for the past four years).
