My initial impressions of the Kobe AD NXT were cynical and I’m still not fond of the aesthetic of the shoes. But these Nike Kobe AD NXT Mambacurial prove that colorways can breathe life into a shoe- I’m totally sold on them. The mambacurial collection was inspired by the mercurial soccer cleats in honor of Kobe’s love for the game of Soccer commonly known worldwide as Football. Most of the shoes in the collection come in pink and neon green but with the NXT edition, Nike used a more conservative color scheme.
They feature a dark green breathable knit upper with a layer that goes over the footbridge and is supported by three elastic cables. The midsole swoosh logo and the medial NIKE wording will come in turquoise providing a striking contrast. The shoes remind me a lot of the kobe invisibility cloak
. They have an adjustable lacing system centered on the outside of the tongue. They sport a lunarlon midsole and are also equipped with an additional drop-in insole with a zoom air bag incorporated in the heel for extra cushioning. They will be dropping later this year, so stay tuned for further updates.
