What's Next? The Nike Kobe 11 XI Christmas & KD 9 Sauce?

We are entering the holiday season, and this is the time of the year when brands will milk you out of your hard earned money. I have seen a great deal of sneakers all over social media platforms this week, but two of them caught my attention: the Nike Kobe 11 XI Christmas & KD 9 Sauce.

Last year’s Christmas edition of the Kobe came in a multi-colored upper on top of gold speckled midsole; the shoes were definitely gorgeous but priced at $200. This year’s Nike kobe 11 Low Christmas looks a lot like the Kobe Grinch; the shoes feature a Flyknit upper dressed in lemon green with an obsidian inner liner . Kobe’s logo will occupy the outside of the mesh tongue and a very small stitched up black Nike swoosh can also be spotted near the heel. A translucent outsole will complete the look of the shoes.

I was pretty upset with Durant’s post season decision to join the warriors, and somewhat boycotted his signature sneakers, but these Nike KD 9 sauce are dazzling. I’m not sure what the inspiration is behind the nickname “sauce” ; they feature a deep burgundy upper with metallic red detailing. I think the KD 9 , the Curry 3 and the banned 31 are probably the Top 3 on court performance sneakers of the year. I talked to my buddy Chris, who owns a pair of KD 9 and here is what he had to say about them:

“Pros: – Full length zoom is amazing and closer to the ground than Lebron 10 which use to be my fav 3 years ago
– Traction is really good, maybe too good
– The flex groove right under your toe is an excellent addition
– Breathability is decent
Cons: – Hard to put on
– You need to have an L-shape flat foot and not wide
– I find that you have to be playing or moving in them or the foot starts to go numb If you are inactive.” 852409-696 824463-334
