In the past five weeks, Nike has inundated retail shelves with several colorways of the Uptempo. And last week, the brand introduced a newer colorway scheduled to release sometime in the Fall-the Flax uptempo. I definitely believe Nike is slowly taking the uptempo taste out of the mouth of many sneaker heads. But the latest model that has emerged, the Nike Air More Uptempo Scottie Pippen PE, is geared toward paying tribute to the Hall Of Famer.
The shoes come in white, black and red durabuck upper in keeping with the Bulls uniform colors; the lettering on the sides will be in bold black letters. Nike branding appears on the the toe box ( in red and black) and on the heel portion of the midsole. Unlike the previous models, a specific “PIP” logo will adorn the heel panel, paying homage to Pippen. The side panels are covered with perforations for a ventilated comfort; pull tabs placed on the tongue and the back will ensure easy entry and exit. The sneakers are also equipped with full length air units for cushioning purposes.
Scottie Pippen was a small forward who could do it all on the court, offensively and defensively. in many games his assignment was to shut down his opponent’s best offensive players. He could drive to the basket, pass the ball, shoot and had some of the most ferocious dunks in his era. Lebron James’s game has been compared a lot to Pippen’s.
