I was just going to rest tonight and watch some NBA games on leaguepass; but an earlier conversation I had led me to create this little post. Basically I was talking to a Facebook acquaintance about the performance attributes of the Curry 3, but he quickly waived them off and said he only swore by Jordans or Nike basketball shoes. I don’t have a problem with brand loyalty; but I think it has led us to be so close minded that we blindly allow one or two companies to monopolize the entire Sneaker industry. Just scroll through most sneaker blogs or magazines and the main brands that stand out are Jordan, Nike and Adidas.
So I decided to spend a little bit more time on other brands; the ASICS Platinum OG DS Trainer was last seen in the late 90’s. Asics is bringing back this classic again in two colorways on January 13.
ASICS Platinum OG DS Trainer White Black H704Y-0190
They come in a white based upper with black ,teal and purple highlights on the sides, eyestay, inner liner and quarter panels. Asics ‘ branding can be seen on the outside of the tongue and on the heel counter in purple and teal. They are light and are equipped with Asics’own rearfoot and forefoot gel cushioning ( intended to attenuate shock during impact).

This colorway is my favorite out of the entire pack; you can see the breathable mesh construction on the toe box. I don’t know how great these are for the winter but, i’m looking forward to getting one for the Summer.
