Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined: Resale Value

The chart above gives us a summary of the average sale price of the shoe on February 16,2024, which is exactly a day away from the official release of the shoe. As you can see, the current price is about $279, certainly above retail but let’s find our five number summary for further details.
Minimum: 251
Quartile Q1: 266
Median: 275
Quartile Q3: 282.5
Maximum: 425
The lowest sale recorded was $251, size 10.5 while the highest sale was $425, size 11. About 1/4 of the shoes sold between $251 and $266 ( see next chart for sizes) while 50% of them sold between $266 and $282.5. The top 25% sales were from $282.5 to $425 and there were three outliers, $344, $352 and $425 corresponding to sizes 9,11 and 11. The average sale value of $279 included the outliers; without the outliers, the average selling price is $273 with a very low volatility of 4%. You can expect about 95% of the shoes to sell between $253 and $293.
At $273, you’re looking at a +$20 profit margin, a 9% mark up ( below average) but that’s still a decent profit. There are certainly certain sizes that lead to much better margins, see chart below.

Based on the records above, 31% of the sales led to profit margins between $10 and $20, that is sizes 7.5,8,9.5 and 10.5. 62% generated earnings between $20 and 440, that is sizes 9, 10,11.5,12,12.5,13,14, 15. Size 11 led to the most profit with $72 in return, that is a 32% mark up ( 2.1 times above average).
What’s the verdict on this shoe? Any size you acquire will certainly generate a profit but to maximize your earnings aim for sizes 10 and above and for potential homeruns, target size 11. This is also a good long term investment option, I wouldn’t be surprised if within the next 14 months, its average selling price is in high $300’s on most sizes. The shoe will definitely sell out instantly via retail.
