The Jordan 11 high is probably the only sneaker in MJ’s collection that has a short shelf life in retailers stores. Nike’s edit to Amplify campaign has produced some solid fruits thus far; there is still more tweaking to be done but jordan retros have not been disappointing. While Nike’s design team is putting in work in the lab for newer colorways of the retro 11, bootleggers and artists are creating their own colorways as well. I came across this pair of Air Jordan 11 High snakeskin I wanted to share with you guys.
They feature an all white upper with snakeskin overlays on the toe box, mudguard and back panel. Ironically the shoe bears the #45 on the back tab as if to tell Nike,
anything you can do, we can do better…
I’m not fond of snakeskin inspired sneakers but so far any Jordan 11 low Nike has put on the market with snakeskin overlays has performed well in the retail and third party marketplaces. This leads me to wonder why bootleggers and customizers are capitalizing on an opportunity that Nike should be munching on. It just bothers me that as great as Nike is, its design team has been lacking in creativity for quite some time- we’ve been served the same retros over and over to the point where no one is excited anymore. I’m not just sharing this Air Jordan 11 high snakeskin for the sake of people drooling all over it; this is also to invite JB design team to shake things up and give the brand’s loyalists less redundant sneakers.
