This upcoming week end will see the release of some serious heat as sneakerheads say; one of the shoes I’m looking forward to is the Air Jordan 8 VIII Retro Take Flight. End just uploaded so high quality pics of the shoes and they look marvelous. I was in my local HOH today and was told that the store was only allocated 12 pairs. Now I’m not sure about the veracity of the statement but a quick look at the launch locator indicates that only HOH are getting them ( in limited numbers).
With a very smooth full grain leather and durabuck upper, the shoes come in an army green based upper with black and orange accents all throughout. Jordan logos are featured on the outside of the tongue (chenille orange Jumpman patch), the customary “23” on the midfoot strap and the “air jordan” text on the heel panel strap.
The Jordan 8 in general sport an inner sleeve intended to cushion the foot and keep it slip-free. They are also equipped with a PU midsole ( the thickest type of midsole available in the market) with encapsulated air units in the heel and forefoot ( for maximum cushioning). The 8’s were originally introduced in 1993 and were primarily engineered for performance; but I think in the early 90’s , lightweight wasn’t something most brands were focusing on. MJ needed stability, cushion, comfort, good traction, ankle support and all those attributes were definitely built in the AJ8. If you are over 190lbs ( and enjoy operating in the low post or elbow) then I will definitely recommend them for basketball.
