The Air Jordan 13 Obsidian is set to release officially on Saturday September the 18th and retails for $190. The shoe’s color palette is White, Obsidian, and Dark Powder Blue. This Air Jordan 13 with a Charlotte Hornets motif has a white leather upper with dark blue underlays and light blue details on the tongue, Jumpman emblem, and rubber outsole. This release comes in original packaging and is available in full-family sizes. This morning, we’ll try to come up with an estimate of the possible number of pairs made and the shoe’s current resale value via third party marketplaces. First, let’s get a count of the retailers allocated an inventory beside Nike.

The shoe qualifies as a GR ( General Release) which means that it will be available in considerable numbers. I’ve recently wrote a projection post on the Red Flint Jordan 13 ( which was also a GR sneaker) and I believe that the numbers will be similar. So instead of me going through the rigorous steps of setting up the assumptions, we’ll conclude that the total number of pairs of the Obsidian 13’s made will fall within the 150,000 < Number of Possibly Pairs Made< 300,000interval. You can read the post below to see how I came up with these numbers
Jordan 13 Dark Powder Blue Resale Value
The chart above gives you a breakdown of the average resale value of the shoe between August the 28th and September the 14th. The most important days to look at are the last three days and you can clearly see that the resale value falls within the $270 to $285 range. The model that best captures the data is the logarithmic function,
Resale Value= $299-$5.83 LN (t= time elapsed since Aug 28).
We can predict the price of the shoe by September 18th,
Resale= $299-$5.83 ln(21)=$281.25 .
So based on the model, the shoe will resell for $281.25 by September the 18th but I doubt that’ll be the case. I think it will be somewhere between $230-$245. I’ve also included a breakdown of the resale value by size, see chart below.
