JB brought back the metallic blue AJ1 last year so it’s no surprise that the Air Jordan 1 OG Metallic Red is also making a return. The shoes were originally released in the mid 80’s, then retroed in 2009 but with different features: the 2009 pair had a Jumpman logo on the tongue and back panel. If you’ve been paying attention to the trends now, a lot of brands are going back to resuscitating some of their classic sneakers.
The 2017 model will also come in a white and metallic red color combination and features a premium leather upper. The customary Jordan wings and panel swoosh logos will remain ; the back panel will not have any logos in keeping with the OG 1986 model. The Jumpman logo on the outside of the tongue will be replaced with the “nike air” and a swoosh logo ( staying true again to the OG 1986 edition). Additional features of the shoes a perforated toe box for ventilation purposes, a durable sole with encapsulated air units for maximum cushioning.
