The AF1 are always going to be classic shoes; rapper Nelly had us going crazy in the early 2000’s with his record. I myself couldn’t resist the temptation of picking up a few pairs of the Af1 back then. Over the last 8 years, several colorways and customs have made their way unto the sneaker scene. Two of my favorite models that dropped this year are the Desert Camo Af1 and the Jungle Camo model. But today while in FTL, I came across the air force 1 piranha gold 718152 70, and they are on sale for $69.99.
The shoes were inspired obviously by one of the most feared fish of the Amazon rainforest. They come in a three layer gold upper with fish scale patterns referencing the piranha. Nike branding will hit the side panels in the usual large swoosh covered in fish scales as well. Additional logos will occupy the tongue and the back tab. The shoes are completed by a clean white sole with encapsulated air units for maximum cushioning. They also feature a perforated toe box for a ventilated comfort. Deep grooves with circular threads grace the outsole for superior traction.
