The wait is finally over, the highly anticipated Adidas Yeezy Baketball Quantum will release officially Kanye West’s hometown, Chicago. The sneaker features a mesh upper with a zebra pattern that is reminiscent of the popular Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Zebra. Additional details include a suede overlay on the toebox, heat-sealed panels on the back, and a black slipper that extends to the ankle. Matching laces, a few reflective details and a milky Boost sole complete the shoe.
It will officially be available for purchase during NBA All-Star Weekend and will cost about $250. I’m not really fond of the style and I don’t know how safe the shoe is for basketball purposes. I don’t know how sturdy the ankle area is, from the pictures it’s hard to tell if this will offer a secure fit. We’ll have to wait for Weartesters for an update on that. I do think the $250 is a bit too high for a performance shoe, every other basketball signature shoe from Adidas falls within the $80-$110 price range. I’m waiting for Kanye West and the brand to explain why the shoe costs this much.
